Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation - 2W1 Dawn | £29.50

Greetings foundation enthusiasts! Today I'm coming at you with a foundation that has definitely done the rounds of the bloggersphere recently and has been hyped up like nothing else. I must admit the rave review were true - and here's why!

Coverage: 8/10

I for one love a good full coverage foundation, but I hate the heavy, sticky feeling I'm often left with after application. I mean there really is nothing worse than when you can physically feel your makeup sat on your skin, I'm sure a lot of you can relate... unappealing and just plain GROSS! I kid you not, this foundation is a revelation in the sense that it is virtually weightless once it has settled into your skin - something you wouldn't expect from such an intense formula. It requires a lot of buffing in but after spending the time to properly stipple the foundation in, you're left with a stunning flawless and airbrushed base!

Colour 7/10
Since I have a warm undertone in my skin, a lot of foundations I choose tend to have an orange hint to them and this one is no exception (don't worry, I did get matched professionally, it's just how my skin is). That being said, I love the fact it means that I have to properly buff it into my skin which leaves me with even more of an immaculate base which is so much easier to work with. Double Wear foundation also comes in 30+ shades so whatever you skin tone is, you're somewhat guaranteed that you will find a shade to suit you!

Packaging 4/10
I'm sure I won't be the first one to point this out, but although the packaging is luxurious and feels very expensive in comparison to my drugstore and even some high-end foundations there is definitely room for improvement! My main criticism is the fact there is no pump involved, and I for one love my foundation to come with a pump so I know for sure how much I am applying. First world problems aside, my pump from my MAC foundation suits me fine for now, and fits just the same as the Studio Fix bottle.

Longevity 8/10
They really don't call it Double Wear for nothing! I once wore this foundation from about 12pm in the afternoon to about 1am and no word of a lie, it hardly budged! I mean obviously there is no such thing as a foundation that will look the exactly the same almost 12 hours after you applied it, after lots of dancing, talking and of course eating, but this is probably the closest you are going to get!

Which is your go-to foundation?

Have a great day!

  1. I have this foundation, I love it :) the only thing is that it's SO hard to remove even with makeup remover. But that's no reason for not buying it, great post!
