Why Choose Ray-Ban?

Considering there is a substantial amount of different brands, prices and lenses to go for, I understand the big sunglasses debate that is potentially going on inside your head....

For me, sunglasses are one of the only things I like to spend a little bit more money on, mainly due to the fact that you can't put a price on your eyesight and no one wants to be permanently squinting by a young age. Ray-Bans were my first designer pair of sunglasses and I bought my first pair just less than a year ago. I also recently just picked up another pair due to my ever-growing love for the first pair and since the whole point of my blog is to share things with you, (and so I don't feel quite as bad about spending money), I thought it would be rude not to.

That being said, sunglasses are an amazing accessory and can transform your look almost immediately. Wearing jeans and a cami? Throw on a pair or aviators to make your look instantly all the more chic. Sporting a biker jacket and boots? A pair of wayfarers will revamp your already modern look into something ultimately sharp and cool.

Onto the first pair. These glasses will always hold a special place in my heart as I bought them just before going on holiday last year in duty free and needless to say I had the time of my life whilst I was there. I've said it before and I'll say it again, these classic aviators really were the buy of the year and I literally have not stopped wearing them. They are definitely my signature glasses and I can see myself wearing them for many more years to come. The lenses are also polarised so I feel like they're protecting my eyes appropriately! They feel literally weightless on my face, even to the point I forget I'm wearing them, no joke!

What's more is the big lens dilemma. If you're going for the 'I woke up like this... but don't want you to see' kind of look I always suggest a wayfarer with black lenses. That way, your eye bags and mascara-less lashes are no where to be seen! Similarly, if you're looking for a seasonal lens and maybe want something a little more suited to the summer I always think mirrored or colours lenses, for instance blue or green, as they always look stunning in contrast with the sun, sea and maybe an odd palm tree or two. An automatic uplift to your outfit! And finally, if you're just looking for a perfect all rounder, I would go for the classic aviator. I think they suit most face shapes and are just a great accessory to complete your outfit.

On to the lovely little new additions, and the ones who also inspired this post! I have always loved wayfarers and just how cool they make people look. I mean I'm not sure if I'm cut out for it, (I'm extremely far from cool) but that's not the point - haha! We've seen the wayfarer style on everyone from Audrey Hepburn to Beyoncé and Kate Moss! That's what I mean when I say that certain styles and designs are timeless and can be worn over many different decades and still look so effortless and chic as the first pair ever made did! The only niggle with them I have is that compared to the aviators they are heavier on the face, but because of this they feel a little bit more durable.

I love Ray-Bans because they have so many different styles and designs to choose from and also because of how classic they are. I mean both my parents had Ray-Bans and I can guarantee they would still look just as current now as they did back then! And finally, for a pair of high-quality glasses that protect our eyes from the sun, the price is reasonable and not extortionate like some other pairs of glasses on the market!

Do you own Ray-Bans? What are your favourite style of sunglasses?

Have a great day!
