Real Techniques By Samantha Chapman Powder Brush Review | MegBolderson.

Bought from Boots-£10.99
Hi lovelies!  I've been on the hunt for a new powder brush for quite a few months now; to replace the one I've had for years and sheds hairs all the way around my face, and until now I haven't managed to find one that isn't going to break the bank but is still good quality and leaves me with flawless results. Now, Samantha Chapman, you are a complete and utter life saver. I heard about the Real Techniques brushes and have always been eager to try one but couldn't pick from the range because they're all so nice. A few weeks ago I found out the lovely Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo (YouTube beauty guru/ makeup artist) had her own line for the company and had created this little gem, I instantly knew I needed it in my life!

The brush itself is a lot bigger than I ever expected I would need in a powder brush, and when I saw it my first thought was 'Is my face big enough?'. Jokes aside, this is honestly the softest brush ever! It glides onto my face effortlessly and applies powder. I've been using this for quite a while and have not had a single hair shed from the bush onto my face. WIN!

If you don't particularly like using big, dense brushes to apply powder with, I wouldn't advise buying  this brush. I find that transporting the brush isn't practical either as it's so big and takes up most of the space in my makeup bag.

Overall, this brush is incredible value for money, offers amazing quality and applies powder remarkably well! The brush isn't ideal for your makeup bag or just to throw in your bag for touch-ups, however in this case, the positives outweigh the negatives and I will definitely be buying more Real Techniques brushes!

What is your experience like with Real Techniques brushes? What is your favourite powder brush?

Have a great day!

Mini Room Tour & Tips To Maximise Your Closet Space | MegBolderson.

Bedrooms. Where we lounge, sleep, study, blog, Is there really anything we don't do in them? For me, my bedroom is really important, not only for enjoyment and privacy, but for work (or in my case homework and revision, boohoo). And although there are plenty of distractions- the endless fashion shows I have to myself in the mirror, the pamper nights, I feel that my bedroom really is my little place just to get away from reality and get everything done.

My room isn't completely finished, however I don't think I will ever be 100% satisfied with the way my bedroom looks, so I thought I would show it to you the way it looks now. It may well change but it will never be perfect. I think I've done the best that I could with the funds I had, I hope you think the same. Here are just a few little pictures of my room (a little bit like a room tour, but not really a room tour) and a few tips on how I maximise my wardrobe space. I hope you find this helpful, but also find out a little more about me! (It is VERY girly, please don't judge me...)

Organise your clothes into categories such as colour coordination or according to what type of clothing it is e.g Dresses, Tops, Jumpers, Jeans, or even the type of material it's made from. This way you know what you already own and what you need to buy in the future. This helps you save money as you aren't buying things you already own, but only things you're lacking in.

Hang clothing items on non-slip hangers to prevent clothes falling off and to maximise your closet space. This has helped so much for me as the non-slip hangers are really thin and you can fit everything in nicely. You wouldn't think it makes that much of a difference but it really does. They also look a lot neater, you can pick them up fairly cheap too which is nice. Who wants to spend an arm and a leg on hangers, really?

Different textures in your room make it feel a lot more calming and boudoir-like. From lace to fleece, a contrast in textures really do make a lot of difference and make your room feel a lot more luxurious!

I like to have the books I'm currently reading by my bed on my bedside table as when I read, the majority it is on my bed really late at night. They are also a really good way to accessorise your living space without actually spending any money on ornaments or decorative pieces!

Small things like candles can make the world of a difference, they are a great way to add warmth to a room without being too over the top. My favourite candle scent is Vanilla!

I find fresh flowers also look really nice in my bedroom as they completely turn your room into a stress-free zone and allow you to completely chill out. They also look really nice and add a lovely scent to your room, my favourite are pink Roses, but I like these too.

Keep recent purchases close-by, this will help you realise what you have bought and so you don't just toss it in a draw for it never to be seen again. It really helps me because I know what I have and haven't used and it prevents me from going out and buying something similar to what I already have.

If you really want to stay up-to-date with what's in and what isn't, be sure to keep the magazines you're currently reading nearby so you can stay updated on the latest trends. Not going to lie, I look like a bit of a magazine hoarder by these pictures, I can assure you I'm not. I just like to keep specific magazines I especially enjoyed so I can look back in years to come to see what was in fashion. It is also great inspiration for blog posts!

I hope that has helped in some way or another! Please let me know if you have any more tips on how I can maximise my space even more.

Are there any tips you swear by when it comes to your living space? What do you like best about your bedroom?

Have a great day!

Nail Polish Picks For Spring/Summer 13! | MegBolderson.

Hi lovelies! Nail Polish is one of my absolute favourite things to buy, however I'm not quite sure as to why as my nails are so short and stubby. That is why I've decided to grow them (*try to grow them). I've been going a good 2 weeks now and already seeing a difference in the length of my nails and they feel much stronger as I've been using Sally Hansen's 'Hard as Nails' clear polish daily and my nails are seriously is so much better quality! I really recommend it. I'm going to buy the one to help nail growth as I need all the help I can get. It feels so nice when I happen to run my fingers over my nails and be able to actually feel something that isn't brittle and practically non-existent. Exaggeration aside, here are my nail polish picks for the current and upcoming seasons! Hope you enjoy.

Avon Speed Dry Nail Enamel- Suddenly Sunny.
I don't have a lot to say about this other than the colour is so bright and exotic, and for £2.50 you can't really go wrong. I only bought this recently so I haven't had chance to fully try it out yet, but I will let you know how it is when I find the chance. I think a bright yellow nail polish is essential for Spring and Summer as it adds a pop of colour to any outfit without even trying!

Rimmel 'Cocktail Colour'- 140 Hawaiian Punch.
Again, I haven't had this long enough to be able to give you a proper review, however after spotting it on Fleur from 'Fleur DeForce' I have been forever scouting this colour and FINALLY found it! I'm just so in love with it, it's pink but has a gorgeous orangey/golden shimmer to it and is quite literally everything I could every ask for in a nail polish! Incredibly suited to Spring and Summer.

Nails Inc. 'In The Spotlight' Mini Collection- Electric Lane (right), Convent Garden Market (middle), Soho Street (left).

I love this little collection as I think it's perfect for the warmer months! It has 2 glitter coats, the red one being more opaque and the silver being more of a top coat which adds a touch of glamour to your nails without being too over the top. Soho Street (far left) being my favourite out of the collection as It's so pretty and has so many different colours throughout. To be honest you could wear these nail polishes at any time of the year, however I think they are the most fitting to Spring/Summer!

O.P.I Nail Lacquer- Morning, Moneypenny.
Wow, I mean just looking at this gets me excited. I'm not going to lie, this is probably the first ever high-end nail polish I've ever bought and boy do I love it. In colour it is a very deep purple/plum colour but in certain lights, colours such as red, gold, blue (pretty much every single one) shows a very sneaky appearance, which makes it wearable all year round! It does make your hands look like a glitterball, but very subtly. It was also part of the Skyfall collection which I love as I really enjoyed the movie!

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint- Blueberry (left), Greenberry (right).
As you probably know already, these nail polishes are my favourite things to be showcasing on my newly grown nails at the moment! I wish all Barry M Nail Paints had the Gelly formula as I just love it so much. The Blueberry shade is really gorgeous and almost a mix between lilac and pastel blue which is nice. The Greenberry on the other hand is a beautiful mint green, perfect for Spring and Summer. Retailing at £3.99 each they are an absolute steal and I recommend you go out immediately and buy yourself some to see what you think!

So for the moment, that is my favourite nail polishes for Spring/Summer 2013! I'm constantly discovering new nail polishes I love so this could may well change in the future, but for now, these are my favourite!

What is your favourite colour to be wearing this season? Do you have a particular nail polish brand that you love, if so why?

Have a great day!

Liebster Award | MegBolderson.

Hi guys, today is a very exciting day! I was lucky enough to be nominated TWICE for a Liebster award! Can you believe it? It was actually a few weeks ago that the lovely Caitie Evans at What Caitie Did nominated me for a Liebster award, and I have literally been SO busy with school that I haven't managed to get round to it. (I know, silly me).  Only until a few days ago I was contacted by the amazing Jess at Monkey Toes and Manicures telling me she had tagged me to do a Liebster award that I thought I ought to do it, now I have a lot of spare time on my hands.  Thank you again girls, I really appreciate it.

Because I was so kindly asked to do it twice, I thought why not answer both sets of questions? So this will most likely turn into a mammoth long blog post, but it's definitely worth it if you want to know more about me!

The Liebster Award is given to blogs you love under 200 followers. It's a great way to discover smaller awesome blogs! The rules are fairly simple:
1. Each blogger should answer the questions the tagger has set for you.
2. Choose 11 new bloggers to pass the award onto and link them in your post.
3. Create 11 new questions for the chosen bloggers.
4. Go back to their page and tell them about the award.
5. Each blogger should post 11 random facts about themselves.
6. No tag-backs!

My answer to the 11 questions the fabulous Caitie sent me:

1. What is your favourite aspect of blogging?
I enjoy all aspects of blogging, but my favourite has to be when you receive good feedback from people, when they contact you and tell you how much they enjoyed reading. It tells me that my hard work is paying off which is nice and I appreciate it so much!

2. What is your must-have make up item for spring?
Definitely a bright lip, it can transform your makeup instantly!

3. What goals do you have for your blog for 2013?
Not so much for my blog, but I would love nothing more than to attend some blogger events and meet some lovely people. It would be so nice to chat to some people face-to-face about blogging!

4. Cosy night in or wild night out?
Considering I'm only 14, I guess I have to say cosy night in...

5. If you could change one thing about your appearance, would you? If yes, what?
I've never been very happy with the size of my forehead (I know this sounds so silly, but it makes me really insecure) However I'm not aware of any type of surgery to sort that out, so I guess I'm stuck with it.

6. Favourite sport to watch or play?
I don't consider myself a very athletic girl, however I LOVE to dance and have been doing so for years, so if you can consider that a sport, dance!

7. Do you have any holy grail items? If so what are they?
I would have to say the collection 2000 concealer that everyone and their mum owns. Original I know.

8. Favourite song of all time?
Ahh, I can't pick! There's so many. Probably BeyoncĂ© 'Run the World' or 'All the Single Ladies' because I'm such a crazy fan!

9. What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
Pinterest told me to 'be the best version of me'. Which I try to follow.

10. If you could re-style a celebrity, who would it be and why?
I really can't answer that, I honestly think that all celebrities dress differently to their style and preference, I mean look at Lady Gaga!

11. Do you enjoy what you do for a living?
Well I'm currently in school so I don't have a job. :(

Thank you so much for those questions Caitie, Now onto Jess's questions.

1. How did you meet your best friend?
I have lots of best friends, I've known one of them since birth as our parents were best friends too, and the rest I met at school.

2. What's one makeup thing you struggle with?
I'm not the best at contouring, I'm getting better with practise, but I always just look like I have a random line in the middle of my face, not cute.

3. What's one place you really want to see before you die?
Definitely Florida! I've wanted to go for years now.

4. What do you splurge on?
I think a good brush makes all the difference when applying makeup, so I would say brushes!

5. Who would you pick to play you in a movie?
Wow, this is really hard haha, erm, not because she's anything like me at all, because she really isn't. But Jennifer Lawrence is hands down one of my favourite actresses, I love the way she is so elegant but can still pull off climbing trees, She is also so beautiful and natural. So If I had to pick among the amazing line of actresses there is out there, It would be her (The Hunger Games is also my favourite movie ever!)

6. What is your absolute favourite store to shop at?
It depends, for clothes I like Topshop, however it can sometimes get a bit pricey. If that's the case I turn to H&M, it never fails to please me! Aside clothes shopping (you're going to think I'm weird) I love IKEA! It's so much fun, and so big and woah I think I ought to stop talking about it.

7. What is your favourite snack food?
I eat so much. If I really had to pick it would probably be cereal. Boring I know but whenever I'm feeling peckish I just go into the cupboard and take out a handful of cereal and I'm satisfied, haha!

8. If you could have a role in any TV show, what would it be?
It's more of a reality TV show I suppose, but Made In Chelsea is one of those shows that gets me really excited. I love how well spoken and classy they all are, and their amazing fashion sense, very elegant! Also, Jamie Laing is part of that show.... ;)

9. You are having a dinner party. You can invite anyone, dead or alive. Who would it be?
Beyoncé, without a doubt. I would absolutely love to meet her, I'm absolutely obsessed.

10. What is one beauty product on your wishlist right now?
I would love to own one of the Urban Decay Naked palettes, I own one of their palettes from years ago and I use it all the time, the eye shadows are such amazing quality and have brilliant pigmentation!

11. What is your favourite cosmetics brand?
I haven't tried that many, but right now I'd have to say MAC just because they have everything and in a wide range of colours.

Thank you very much Jess for those questions!

Spring Lookbook! | MegBolderson.

Hi lovelies, yesterday I was feeling very optimistic and decided to film my first ever YouTube video. Now I wouldn't exactly say it's a 'sit down, talky' video as I only really make an actual appearance at the end, however It was my first step into the world of YouTube and I really enjoyed shooting the video, and then editing that came with it. Boy there was a lot!

Please let me know if you enjoyed it, or if I should just stick to blogging!

Have a great day!

Product's I've Used Up | MegBolderson.

Hi guys. This post is going to be all about the products I've thoroughly enjoyed using, so much so, I've managed to squeeze out every last inch of product inside, and repurchase again. I rarely buy one product, use it, and buy it again as I love to change up what I'm using however these items are at an exception!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation-£5.99-£8.99 (depending where you buy it from and if there is an offer-which there usually is).
As you know, I swear by this foundation. I just love the finish it leaves on my skin, a really moisturising texture and doesn't feel too heavy but still covers my imperfections. It is so easy to apply, the colour match is perfect for me (I wear 100 Ivory-The lightest shade) and of course the small price! Click here for a more in depth review.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder-£3.99
I've raved about this before, It is amazing. I definitely prefer this to any other mattifying powder I've used. I find I go through this like no-ones business, I've hit pan in usually about a week! I completely leaves my fave shine-free and it stays like that for the whole day. Again the price is incredible for such a high-quality product, and if you haven't already, you should try this out.

Mac Lipstick in 'Plink!'-£14
I've repurchased this lipstick several times because I love it so much. It's so me! It's a very build able natural pink, I find it goes with everything and most pink lip glosses look lovely over the top of it. It is perfect for my skin tone and is very much like my actual lip colour. Except the finish is a lustre so its very shiny and creamy.

Mac Eye Kohl in 'Smoulder'-£14
Now, I actually don't know where I would be without this eyeliner. Ever since I started using it a good 2 years ago, I have not looked back. As you can tell by the size of this pencil, I use it every day! I do a very gentle swipe on my waterline and I'm good to go. It is so pigmented which is why I love it so much, I don't really need anything else when I use this on my eyes, although I still wear a little mascara.

Nivea Creme- £2.10
This is a very intense, thick moisturiser which I usually apply at night so it has longer to properly soak into my skin. I use on both my body and face (I'm not sure if you're supposed to but I do it anyway) and it feels amazing and leaves my skin feeling highly moisturised.

Neal's Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Hand Cream-£10
As you probably know, I got this as a freebie in a magazine last month and It's contents have soon been entirely squeezed out. I just love this so much, Click here to find out why I love it so much!

Dolce and Gabbana L'eau The One Eau De Toilette- Around £50
This is a very sophisticated and classy scent and some may say 'grown up'. But I quite like that, it makes a change from Juicy Couture. Whenever I smell this on other people I just love it, and when my mum bought it for herself, I had to steal a spritz. It very soon became a 'shared perfume' between the two of us. I'm really bad at describing perfume smells, but to me it smells very vintage and classic.

That concludes my 'Products I've used up' post! I'm sure I'll have a new collection of products in no time that I've happily used up, so expect more posts like this.

Do you have a product that you can't live without? Do you ever go back to products or do you always try something different?

 Have a great day!

SPRING & "Where have I been?" | MegBolderson.

Hi guys, I hope you had a fantastic Easter and ate chocolate until you couldn't breathe!...(not literally). This post is going to be a little more casual and 'chatty', I hope you don't mind. I have a lot of explaining to do. If you haven't already noticed, there's been a real lack of posts lately. This is all due to school, family, and all those kinds of things getting in the way of my little blog. Nevertheless, I have a 2 week break from school (hallelujah) and however much I enjoy school, I do enjoy a break every once in a while, so posts should become more regular and up to date in no time.

I've also been transforming my bedroom so everything has been a little upside down in my household, therefore everything I had planned to blog about has been absolutely impossible to find. Not very good organisation skills I know. However if you would like a small insight into my new bedroom please let me know, perhaps it's not that interesting, and it certainly won't turn into a photo heavy 'room tour'. But if you're interested I would be more than happy to show you a few snaps of my room and so you can know a little bit more about me.

I don't think I have ever been more excited about spring than I am now. (Let's hope April Showers doesn't quite work out). Seeing all these lovely blog posts and YouTube videos about spring and what's going to be on trend this season, I've had a few trips into my wardrobe to decide what I already have, and what I need to buy. I've decided I'm lacking on florals. Florals look adorable in the spring time and you really can't go wrong in a lovely pair of floral trousers and a cute cami- despite the fact the English weather is not living up to the Spring time expectations.

This season is all about positivity! So here are a few motivational quotes to leave you with.

What is your favourite season? What are your top style picks for April?

Have a great day!
